On 27 May 2026, in Higabra (Buritica, Antioquia), unidentified individuals detonated explosives at the Buritica gold mine operated by the company Zijin Continental Gold, where several company workers were present. As a result of the explosion, one worker was killed and another was injured. Authorities and the company preliminarily attributed the attack to informal mining actors linked to the Gulf Clan who carries out illegal mining activities in areas surrounding the mine. 1 fatality.
