On 23 May 2026, in the morning, a Burkinabe army convoy struck several IEDs planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on location) on the Boungou-Partiaga road, coded to Gnimkpelima (Partiaga, Tapoa, Est) a midpoint between the two locations. A number of soldiers were injured. Other IEDs were also defused by the soldiers on the road. Around fifty IEDs were reported to have been initially planted along the road. Casualties unknown.
