On 17 May 2026, in Ywar Thit Kay village (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar navy ships anchored near the Zin Chaung village fired heavy weapons around 11 pm, which fell and exploded in the village and killed a 63-year-old woman. 5 civilians (14-year-old woman, a 79-year-old man, a 60-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man) were injured. 1 fatality.
