UAV event in Kharkiv, Slobidskyi District area, Ukraine on Tue 2nd June 2026

In the Slobodskyi district of Kharkiv, a man was seriously injured when he went to look at a drone that had crashed in an open area on the morning of June 2.

This was told to Suspilny by the director of the city's emergency department, Bohdan Gladkikh.

"Air defense forces shot down a "Shahed" drone over the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. The drone fell into an open area and did not cause any damage to others or property," said Gladkykh.

After some time, a man who had seen the Shahed being shot down approached the drone, the director of the city department added.

I went up to him to see what he looked like, or for some unknown reason. At that moment, the warhead detonated, and the man suffered serious injuries.

According to the Gladkykhs, the man was hospitalized. Doctors considered his condition to be extremely serious.

We urge all Kharkiv residents not to approach the debris or downed warheads under any circumstances. Immediately call 101, 112, or 102 if you find any dangerous objects. Specialists will arrive, and explosives technicians will work on and demine them.

Eyewitness Serhiy said that the drone, which was shot down by the Ukrainian military, fell into a vacant lot near the race track. The injured man came up to take a picture of it.

"A drone was shot down, it was falling down. When it fell, I came out, I yelled at it: 'Get out of there.' He says that it (the drone — ed.) exploded in the air. Well, it seems like there was an explosion from above. And when he got to the hill, started taking pictures, it turned out there was an explosion here," the man said.

His collarbone is torn and his thigh is broken. He was taken away in serious condition, that's what the doctors said.

Head of the OVA Oleg Synegubov reported that a 30-year-old man was injured as a result of a UAV crash in the Lobid district of Kharkiv.
