SAA event in Hässelby area, Sweden on Tue 2nd June 2026

A shooting occurred in the Hässelby villastad in western Stockholm on Tuesday evening. Two people have been arrested and then detained.

– There are signs that someone has shot into a home, says police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind.

The gunshot alarm was received at 11:32 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

– I don't know if it's a villa or another type of residence, but there were people at home. No one was injured, says Carina Skagerlind at the police.

An extensive police operation was underway in the area during the night to Wednesday.

– We are looking for suspects and have already checked a large number of people, so we will see if that leads to an arrest. We are also securing the crime scene. We are talking to witnesses and others who may have seen something and checking cameras, said Carina Skagerlind earlier in the night,

Police dogs were used in the search, among other things. A technical examination will be carried out at the crime scene.

On Wednesday morning, the police announced that two teenage suspects were arrested and detained overnight. A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses has been opened.
