Mine event in between Yakymivka and Sokolohirne area, Ukraine on Fri 29th May 2026
29th May 2026
According to enemy sources, having realised that the skies are largely clear for Ukrainian drones, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and the Special Operations Forces (SSO) have joined in the strikes against Russian logistics. In effect, the enemy, recognising the opportune moment, has committed all available resources to cutting off Russian supply lines.
Slow-flying reconnaissance UAVs conducting reconnaissance and monitoring of the roads may serve as a litmus test for the situation in the skies over the Donetsk area and the R-280 highway.
Moreover, according to incoming reports, the enemy has, as expected, begun mining roads by dropping small mines from aircraft-type drones, in this case along the Mariupol–Melitopol road section, which effectively puts any vehicle at risk at any time of day.
For those who follow the conflict closely, this situation has not come as a surprise or out of the blue; indeed, the enemy has made no secret of its plans to extend the operational range of its ‘unmanned assets’.
