Projectile event in Jammu and Kashmir, Manjakote, Rajouri District area, India on Thu 28th May 2026
28th May 2026
On May 28, Security Forces (SFs) launched fresh fire assaults and multiple grenade launcher attacks on suspected terrorist hideouts in the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla belt of the Manjakote area in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The anti-terror operation entered its sixth day amid reports that two to three Pakistani terrorists, including a commander identified as Abu Hamzah, were hiding in the dense forest area. Army helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs were deployed to track the terrorists, while additional troops strengthened the cordon. The operation was intensified after SFs detected blood stains in the area on May 26, indicating possible injuries to militants during an earlier exchange of fire. Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma reviewed the operation on May 27 along with officials from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
