On May 22, President of the Nawapara Municipal Farmers' Party, Tariqul Islam (50), was shot dead by miscreants in Dahor Moshiahati Village in Abhaynagar Upazila (Sub-District) of Jessore District, reports prothomalo.com. Angry people set fire to houses in Dahar Moshiahati Village over the killing of Tariqul Islam. Residents stated that at least 20 houses in the village were set on fire. In addition, two shops were set on fire and four shops were vandalized in Sundali Bazar.
