28th May 2026
The Mexican Army located eighty-two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) inside a plastic container in the town of La Palma, in the municipality of Badiraguato, Sinaloa. The discovery occurred this Thursday, May 28, during ongoing operations by the federal security cabinet in the mountainous region. The area has seen a high concentration of homemade weapons following recent seizures of more than one hundred similar devices, tactical vests, and shipments of marijuana and poppy seeds. Forensic personnel proceeded with chemical neutralization protocols to safely deactivate the improvised devices. The armed forces are maintaining a perimeter around the discovery site. At the exact location, we observed the plastic container guarded by armored military units and the tactical cordon around nearby access points. The investigation continues under federal jurisdiction.
