Federal agents dealt a double blow to high-level criminal organizations in Sonora and Chiapas. Military intelligence work by the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), coordinated with the Attorney General's Office and the National Guard, allowed them to neutralize high-priority targets and dismantle tactical storage facilities. In Nogales, Sonora, security forces arrested Isai “N,” identified by authorities as the nephew of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who has an outstanding arrest warrant for extradition to the United States. Simultaneously, in Tapachula, Chiapas, law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at a property used by organized crime. During the inspection of the property, our reporter on the ground confirmed the deployment of perimeter armored units and the seizure of the following weapons and narcotics: - 687 kilograms of cocaine - 151 firearms - 363 magazines - 18 grenades. The arrest of the extradition target and the massive seizure of this arsenal directly impact the firepower of transnational networks. The Security Cabinet is maintaining its deployment in both states to secure the perimeter and continue the corresponding investigations.
