On 1 July 2021, the Tekeze River bridge, which connects Gondar to Shire, was blown up. TPLF sources blamed the Amhara special police, while the Ethiopian government blamed TPLF militants for the bridge's destruction. No injuries reported. Location coded to the nearest inhabited center, Addi Arkay (North Gondar, Amhara).
