SAA event in Mandalay Region, Myingyan area, Myanmar on Sun 24th May 2026

An ambush launched against two military vehicles departing from Myingyan town, Mandalay Region, killed 12 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members, including an officer, and led to the seizure of 4 weapons, Ko One-Two from the Myingyan District Battalion 1 told Khit Thit Media.

On May 24 at 10:20 AM, revolutionary forces launched a surprise ambush near Myingyan town against a 4-wheel drive vehicle and a Super Custom van carrying about 20 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members along the Myingyan-Taungtha Road from Myingyan town. During the attack, the Super Custom van veered off the road and was successfully overrun by the resistance forces.

Although the remaining 4-wheel drive vehicle was also hit, it managed to flee back into Myingyan town. From the captured van, resistance fighters retrieved the bodies of four deceased soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members, along with one MA1 rifle, one PA rifle, one M22 rifle, one carbine rifle, and related military equipment before withdrawing.
