Yesterday, May 21, at around 6:20 PM, the military council troops stationed at the mosque in Honetaw village, Tanintharyi Township, and the Light Infantry Battalion 561 based in Nyaungbinkwin village mindlessly and intentionally fired heavy artillery toward the school in Kywehtein Kone village. Due to the explosion of the artillery shell, a 40-year-old local man from Kywehtein Kone village was hit in the head by shrapnel and killed on the spot, a 20-year-old youth suffered a broken knee joint, and a 5-year-old girl sustained severe injuries resulting in a severed leg, according to an official from the Myeik District Battalion 3.
