UAV event in Donetsk area, Ukraine on Wed 27th May 2026

A Ukrainian FPV drone has set a record again, flying 103 kilometers and hitting a target in the Donetsk region . Both record-breaking flights were piloted by pilots from the Phoenix unit, which is part of the Luhansk Border Guard.

This was reported to Public Donbas by the press service of the Phoenix UAS Headquarters.

"The pilot of the Phoenix border unit, using an ordinary FPV drone, covered a distance of 103 kilometers and struck enemy logistics. A military truck was hit," the report says .

The unit's press service said that this record of 103 kilometers was set today, May 27, 2026. The target hit was in the Donetsk region.

The record was set a day after the previous record of 102 kilometers was set, also by the Phoenix unit.

"The FPV drone covered a distance of 103 kilometers on its own, without a so-called "mother", that is, without transporting it to the site of the strike by an aircraft-type UAV," the press service added.

"We were able to achieve this result thanks to several factors. First of all, it is the skill of the pilot himself. Secondly, the improvement of our drone fleet, equipping it with advanced technologies. Of course, it is also worth noting the engineering service of "Phoenix", since each drone passes through their hands and is improved according to the operations it will perform."
