On 21 May 2026, the Ukrainian military launched 15 drone attacks on Syzran oil refinery (Syzranskiy, Samara), killing 2 people, injuring several people and hitting the residential area of Syzran. 1 drone also fell near the Syzran river port and an industrial zone where businesses produce rockets, cosmodromes, air defense radar stations and missile defense systems, as well as components for ICBM silo launchers and heavy crane systems for the navy.
