On 22 May 2026, Israeli drones struck the town and the Burj Rahhal-Dayr Qanun An Nahr road in Dayr Qanun An Nahr (Tyr, South). Another drone struck a motorcycle at the Burj Rahhal-Dayr Qanun An Nahr-Aabbassiye triangle, then conducted a double tap as Islamic Risala Scout Association [affiliated with Hezbollah] paramedics attempted to rescue the driver, killing 6 people, including 2 paramedics, one of them also a journalist, 1 Lebanese man, and 3 Syrians including 1 girl, and injuring 6 others.
