On 18 May 2026, the Malian army conducted an airstrike targeting a vehicle, a motorcycle, and some ten individuals (likely GATIA based on location and activity) near a command post located some 5 km north of the Intililt gold mining site and 16 km from N'Tahaka, location coded to the closest known populated area, Intililt, also spelled as I-n-Tilelt (Gao, Gao), after previous reconnaissance and tracking operations against an unidentified armed group. Military authorities announced several were 'neutralized' (meaning killed), and targeted vehicles and logistics were destroyed. Unspecified fatalities coded as 3.
