Today (May 25, 2026) at 3:30 PM near Prasan Wittaya Foundation School in Yarang District, Pattani Province. Police Sergeant Adul Haji Sulong of Yaharing Police Station was injured, and his wife, Fatimah Yango, a teacher at Prasan Wittaya Foundation School who was on maternity leave, died in their car while holding their infant.
Initial investigations revealed that Sergeant Adul and his wife were waiting to pick up their child from Prasan Wittaya School when the assailants approached their vehicle and opened fire before fleeing.
Following the incident, authorities rushed the injured to the hospital, deployed forces to secure the area, and established checkpoints to prevent further attacks. An investigation is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
