The Security Service of Ukraine discovered a cell of Russian special services in Lyman, Donetsk region, and during a special operation detained a correctional officer and eliminated a Russian militant with the call sign "Shaman", who was offering armed resistance.
Source : SBU report , Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office
Literally : "The security service, in cooperation with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained a Russian agent in the Donetsk region and eliminated a Russian militant whom she was hiding in her own apartment.
During a special operation to expose an enemy cell, the racist offered armed resistance, as a result of which he was destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers."
Details : As the investigation found out, a Russian serviceman with the call sign "Shaman" penetrated the territory of Liman to scout the positions of the Defense Forces in the front-line community.
There he established contact with a local unemployed woman, who later hid him in her home.
The militant then recruited the woman to adjust enemy fire on Ukrainian troops in and around Lyman. To do this, the woman walked around the area under the guise of walking and scouting out Defense Forces bases. She then transmitted the geolocations of potential "targets" to the Russian militant, who then radioed his command to report the coordinates for the attack.
According to the case materials, "Shaman" served in the 31st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 67th Motorized Rifle Division of the 25th Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District of the aggressor country.
It is reported that SBU officers documented the reconnaissance activity of the enemy "couple" in advance and took measures to secure the positions of the defenders of the Lyman.
SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
