Troops Investigate Destruction of Irrigation Farms by Fulani harder in Bassa, Plateau

Troops of Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace have launched an investigation into the destruction of irrigation farms in Teegbe village of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.

Security sources disclosed that the troops responded to a report at about 9:00 a.m. on Sunday concerning the malicious destruction of farmlands within the community.

The sources said that upon arrival at the scene, the troops discovered that crops on the irrigation farms had been cut down with machetes by suspected herders during the night.

According to the sources, efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those behind the act.

The sources condemned the destruction and reaffirmed the commitment of security agencies to protecting lives, property and means of livelihood across the state.
