A joint operation by the National Guard, the Mexican Army, the Attorney General's Office (FGR), and the State Investigative Police (AMIC) resulted in one arrest and the seizure of more than 102 kilograms of drugs in the municipality of Atil, Sonora, on Thursday afternoon. The deployment of federal and state forces intercepted a vehicle transporting the illicit cargo, 55 kilograms of which were specifically fentanyl, in the Río Altar area. Witnesses told us that the official units unexpectedly closed off access to the area to surround the suspect, preventing any escape attempt. The expert breakdown of the weapons and cargo seized by the authorities at the scene consists of: - 55 kilograms of fentanyl - 47 kilograms of various drugs - Firearms - Magazines - Tactical equipment - 1 vehicle The detainee and all the war material and narcotics were placed under the strict disposal of the federal public prosecutors for the formal initiation of the corresponding investigation files.
