Three armed civilians were captured by federal forces in Culiacán, Sinaloa, this Saturday, May 24. Members of the Mexican Army and the National Guard spotted the suspects as they got out of a vehicle carrying weapons in the Ruiz Cortines neighborhood. The on-site security operation immediately neutralized the suspects' movement. After securing the perimeter, authorities confirmed the seizure of an arsenal and tactical equipment that the detainees were guarding in the vehicle. Our reporter in the area confirmed the military cordon and patrols blocking the paved street where the perimeter was secured. The war materiel was inventoried as follows: - 2 AK-47 rifles caliber 7.62x39 mm - 1 Draco-type weapon caliber 7.62x39 mm - 1 pistol caliber 9 mm - 21 magazines for long guns - 3 magazines for handguns - 2 tactical vests with ballistic plates - 76 metal tire spikes - 1 vehicle. The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office assumed custody of the case to follow up on the legal investigations.
