Mexican Army, National Guard, and State Police troops arrested eight people in the Chapultepec neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa, after launching an operation following a citizen's report. Upon arriving at the scene, we were able to verify that the suspects attempted to escape by jumping over the walls of neighboring houses, but were apprehended a short distance away. The criminal group consists of five men, one woman, and two minors. The arsenal seized by law enforcement consists of:
- 4 AK-47 rifles
- 1 M4 carbine caliber 5.56 mm
- 1 rifle caliber 5.56 mm
- 1 machine gun caliber 5.56 mm
- 37 magazines
- More than 1,100 rounds of ammunition of various calibers
- 7 tactical vests with ballistic plates
- 2 vehicles.
This operation in the Chapultepec neighborhood is directly linked to the dismantling of a laboratory in El Progreso, under the containment and investigation strategy that the Attorney General's Office maintains active in the Sinaloa capital.
