Three people, two men and a woman, were shot at a villa in southern Stockholm on Saturday. One of them is believed to have more serious injuries.

A man was arrested at the scene and is now being held on suspicion of attempted murder.

An argument reportedly broke out at the address, resulting in one of the men firing a weapon at the others. One of the men involved called the police, who went to the scene, where the suspect was arrested.

– We arrest a suspect quite immediately, says Carina Skagerlind at the police.

– We assess that this is an isolated conflict.

Three injured people have been taken to hospital. One of them is initially assessed to be seriously injured, the other two to be slightly injured. All were awake and able to speak and were able to be heard by police.

It's unclear how they know each other.

Police initially stated that all were men, but one of the slightly injured is a woman. Police would not comment on the relationship between the people.

Police have interviewed witnesses and residents in the area. The crime scene was cordoned off for forensic examination and to search for any clues in the area.

The man was arrested this afternoon. He will be questioned on Sunday, the Public Prosecution Service told TT.

Accommodation about the police force

A man who lives in the area describes how a lot of police cars and ambulances suddenly appeared.

– I asked the police if there was any danger in being outdoors but they said no, and that he was under arrest, the man tells SVT's team on site.

An older man describes the area as quiet and well-kept.

– I was just going to throw my garbage here at the sorting station. Then I saw the barriers. There's never usually anything like this with police officers, he says.

Security efforts in the area

The police stated that they would continue to be in the area on Saturday evening and Sunday to increase security in the area and to be able to collect additional witness information.
