On May 20, Security Forces (SFs) recovered arms and ammunition, including one Chinese pistol, a magazine, ammunition, and two bags containing miscellaneous items near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of Mendhar tehsil (revenue unit) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Daily Excelsior. Officials said a search operation was launched after the recovery to sanitise the area and rule out further concealment of arms. Security forces suspect that the consignment may have been pushed from across the LoC for local pickup. Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages of the recovery.
