Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be Baloch insurgents, established an armed roadblock on the Nushki highway in Nushki District of Balochistan on the evening of May 18, stopping vehicles at gunpoint and conducting snap checks before detaining 17 employees of the Reko Diq mining project in the Mal area, reports Zrumbesh. The identities of the 17 detained workers have not been officially confirmed. Their current whereabouts remain unknown and no rescue operation has been publicly announced at the time of publication.
