On May 17, Mozammel Haque, General Secretary of Ward No. 2 of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) of Kanchan Municipality in Rupganj, was hacked and injured by opponents in Rupganj Upazila (Sub-District) of Narayanganj District, reports Prothom Alo. It was reported that due to the desire to establish dominance at the local level and past enmity, Jubo Dal leader Kausar Ahmed and his men armed themselves with weapons and carried out a drill and vandalised the Jubo Dal office in Ward No. 2. 8 to 10 miscreants carried out the attack with local weapons, including ramda, chisel, knife, pipe, and iron rod. Additionally, four to five cocktail bombs exploded at that time.
