SAA event in Punjab, Tehsilpura, Amritsar District area, India on Thu 14th May 2026

On May 14, a 22-year-old youth, identified as Kunal, was shot dead by a group of assailants in the Tehsilpura area of Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The Tribune and The Indian Express. The Ram Bagh Police registered a murder case against key accused Vansh and 15–20 unidentified accomplices on the complaint of the victim’s father, Pawan Kumar. Police sources said he was then shot from close range, killing him on the spot. Investigators further stated that the accused allegedly lifted his body and paraded it on a scooter through Sharifpura streets, recording videos which were circulated among gang members. Police suspect the murder is linked to gang rivalry involving youths associated with gangster Sukha Ambarsaria. Raids are underway to arrest the accused, while several suspects have been detained. ADCP Harpal Singh said the investigation is ongoing, and teams have been formed to trace the absconding accused.
