SAA event in Central Bosnia Canto, Jehovac area, Bosnia and Herzegovina on Mon 18th May 2026

A 54-year-old man committed a double murder and suicide. Using a firearm, the perpetrator shot and killed his 79-year-old mother-in-law and seriously wounded his 55-year-old wife, who later died in the hospital. Following the shooting, the perpetrator fled the scene. During the pursuit, the perpetrator, according to media reports, attempted to fire at police officers. Once surrounded by police, the perpetrator discharged the firearm against himself in an attempted suicide, resulting in critical injuries. The perpetrator died in the hospital on the same day. According to media reports, the perpetrator had a history of violent behavior.
