SAA event in Mexico on Thu 21st May 2026

A fierce armed confrontation in the Barrancos sector disrupted the activities of civilians in Culiacán. Upon arriving at the scene, we were able to verify the spent shell casings scattered on the pavement of the Plutarco Elías Calles neighborhood, where minors were training at a sports facility. The national security operation is attempting to contain the territorial disputes that the Sinaloa Cartel is waging in the region. The investigations are progressing slowly in a context where strengthening the rule of law is clashing with the control of assets by criminal organizations that threaten regional stability. The mobilization of intelligence and law enforcement seeks to restore institutional transparency before the eyes of a citizenry caught in the crossfire.
