Three civilians belonging to an armed group were captured in the Aguaruto district of Sinaloa, following a large-scale operation in the region. The police action came after a direct attack that left one National Guard agent dead and three civilians injured on Wednesday, May 20, in Culiacán. Forces from the Sinaloa Special Operations Group and military personnel located the suspicious vehicles in the town of San Miguel. After a chase in the area, authorities apprehended the suspects. Our team observed the perimeter cordon and patrols securing the scene. Three AK-47 rifles, 21 magazines, 630 rounds of ammunition, and tactical vests with ballistic plates were seized at the site. The security deployment remains in place at the entrances to the town to prevent further attacks by the criminal cell. The suspects and the weapons were turned over to federal authorities.
