One person was killed and 11 others were injured as a result of a Russian strike on a residential area of the city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast on the night of May 20.

The service literally says: "In an apartment building, the ceiling from the 2nd to the 4th floor was destroyed as a result of the impact. 3 people were saved... Currently, 8 people are known to have been injured."

Updated : Later, the head of the Sumy Oblast Emergency Situations Department, Oleg Grigorov, added that a 94-year-old woman died as a result of the Russian attack. Her body was found under the rubble of a destroyed apartment.

"She turned 94 on Sunday. And two days later, a Russian attack took her life. She lived in the entrance where the Russian UAV hit. The enemy strike left her no chance of escape," the head of the region said.

The number of injured people increased to 11 people by 11 am. According to Grigorov, most of them are elderly people.

Details : The State Emergency Service added that residential buildings and the building of the local history museum were under enemy fire, and fires broke out.

"Rescuers worked at 5 different locations... Due to the threat of repeated attacks, work was temporarily suspended. All fire sources were eliminated," the State Emergency Service concluded.

The prosecutor's office added that the occupiers were attacking Konotop from 1:20 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. According to preliminary data, 12 UAVs were shot down.

"As of this morning, damage was recorded to 2 private houses, 3 high-rise buildings, 5 administrative buildings, and vehicles," the prosecutor's office reported.

Prehistory:

At night, Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin reported that Russian occupiers had targeted a high-rise building in the city and that there may be people under the rubble.
