A local man from Ohmmatee village in Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State, lost one of his legs after accidentally striking a landmine, according to a man who is aware of the incident.

On May 11 at around 1:00 PM, 34-year-old Sai Laung Lian, who resides in Ohmmatee village, struck the mine while clearing his plantation.
