Mine event in Magway Region, Seikphyu Township area, Myanmar on Sun 17th May 2026

A junta military convoy carrying 250-pound aerial bombs from Defense Products Factory No. 21 (KaPaSa 21) in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, was ambushed with mines by revolutionary joint forces for two consecutive days, killing eight soldiers and destroying two military vehicles by fire, an official from Pakokku District Battalion No. 19 told Khit Thit Media.

On May 16 and May 17, revolutionary forces launched mine attacks along the Saw-Seikphyu road section against a 13-vehicle military convoy, which included a vehicle loaded with 250-pound aerial bomb rounds from Seikphyu Township's KaPaSa 21.

During the mine ambushes, eight soldiers from the junta side were killed, three others were severely injured, and two military vehicles caught fire and were destroyed.
