On May 17, a terrorist military column of over 100 soldiers coming out of the Chinese Wanbao company in Salingyi Township and another column of over 100 soldiers coming from Yinmarbin town arrived at the road section connecting the Wanbao company and Yinmarbin town, where revolutionary comrades ambushed them using more than 20 mines.

During the mine attack, five soldiers from the terrorist military side, including one officer, were killed, and many others were injured. The injured soldiers were transported toward Monywa town, and the military fired small arms and 60mm mortar shells randomly along the way, while the Wanbao company side also provided covering fire with heavy weapons.
