Officials in National Water Affairs Regulatory Authority say that since July 12, rockets and artillery shells suspected to have been fired by Taliban have landed close to the Salma Dam also known as India-Afghan friendship dam located Chesht-e-Sharif District of Herat Province, reports The Khaama Press. Further, Kabul Timesadds that Taliban ‘spokesman’ Zabihullah Mujahid has denied any involvement. Mujahid said, “We did not shoot at Salma Dam at all.” He further claimed that the security of Kamal Khan Dam located in Nimruz Province is now at the Taliban hands.
