Rocket event in Ukraine on Fri 15th May 2026

On 15 May 2026, Russian Forces conducted a combination of air, drone, mortar, MLRS and artillery strikes on the Velykopysarivska community (coded to Velyka Pysarivka, Sumy). A private residential building was damaged. No civilian casualties. Russian forces (units of the 'North' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, an assault regiment and three territorial defense brigades (coded to Nova Sich) near Velyka Pysarivka. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: an armored combat vehicle, 11 vehicles and up to 180 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Zapsillia, Nova Sich, Popivka, Khotin, Chervona Zoria, Budarky, Volokhivka, Hraniv, Mytrofanivka, Ryasne and Velyka Pysarivka [Russian MoD reported 180 fatalities.
