On 15 May 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'West' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment of two mechanized brigades and an assault brigade near Horokhovatka, Kharkiv. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: an armored combat vehicle, 23 vehicles, 2 field artillery pieces, an electronic warfare station, a counter-battery station and up to 170 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Velyka Shapkivka, Horokhovatka, Mayaky, Studenok, Oskil, Svyatohirsk, Sydorove and Lyman [Russian MoD reported 170 fatalities.
