On 10 May 2026, in Kawkareik township (Kawkareik district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military advanced towards the old Kawkareik highway and the area around Auk Bo Te while conducting drone strikes. Resistance forces claimed that the military deployed heavy explosive drones from China for the first time, which were larger in size and carried stronger explosives. Casualties unknown.
