On 12 May 2026, in Indaw town (Indaw township, Katha district, Sagaing region), an unknown armed group conducted a drone strike and dropped bombs with two FPV suicide drones which fell and exploded at the Basic Education High School (Aung Zay Ya) around 11:45 am. A primary school headmaster and two staff members were injured. The military claimed that the culprits were members of the People's Defense Forces.
