On 12 May 2026, in Shan Htu village (Chaung-U township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military troops stationed in the General Administration Department office in Chaung-U town fired five 120 mm heavy weapons indiscriminately without an armed clash occurring around 4 pm, which fell and exploded near a bridge in the western part of the village. An 80-year-old woman was killed, and a husband and a wife around 30 years old were injured. 2 houses were also damaged. 1 fatality.
