On 15 May 2026, in the evening, 3 Israeli airforce jets launched 13 bombs on al-Mu'taz residential building and a car Al Wihda Street in Gaza - Southern Remal (Gaza City, Gaza Strip) killing at least 5 people, among them Hamas Commander Izz ad-Din Al-Haddad and his family. More than 20 people were injured and a big fire broke out in the building. A second airstrike targeted a car leaving in which 3 people were killed, sources said the vehicle may have been carrying Haddad after he was seriously injured in the first strike. Total fatalities were at least 8. This event occurred in a Hamas-controlled area of the Yellow Line.
