On 10 May 2026, Nigerian troops carried out coordinated airstrike on a Zamfara militia at a market in Tunfa (Zurmi, Zamfara) and killed at least 50 militia members including commanders while others fled. An unspecified number of civilians were also injured and killed. The strike also destroyed concealed structure serving as the meeting point militia members.
