Emergency services and police responded to an apartment building in Landskrona on Tuesday morning after several people reported a loud bang.

At 07:50, SOS Alarm received a call about some kind of explosion at an apartment building in Landskrona. The police blocked off the road and have questioned people in the area. The crime is classified as public danger.

– There have been several calls about a loud bang, says Jakob Palmgren, press contact at the police this morning.

Johan Lindberg lives in the house and heard the bang.

– It was impossible to miss, it was a hell of a bang, he tells SVT's reporter on site.

Damage to several basement windows

An ambulance was sent to the scene in connection with the operation but was able to leave shortly afterwards without anyone needing treatment. According to the police, no one was injured.

The apartment building is located in southeast Landskrona.

– There is damage to several basement windows. There are signs that something has exploded, says Joel Johansson, duty officer at the Swedish Rescue Service South.

Khaled Alahmad lives in the area and believes that explosions, car fires and other acts of violence are common in Landskrona and where he lives.

– It's terrible. The police are not taking control of this, he says.

National bomb shelter on site

According to police, a car parked near the building was also damaged.

Just before 9 a.m., the National Bomb Squad arrived at the scene. Half an hour later, they were ready and technicians were called to the scene. By 11:20 a.m., the police had lifted the cordons and left the scene.
