An explosion occurred near a car in a residential area in Stuvsta in Huddinge municipality south of Stockholm on Monday night. No one was injured.

At 02.31 SOS Alarm was alerted to the incident.

– It was an explosion next to a car, says Ida Abrahamsson, police officer on duty.

The car in the driveway suffered material damage but no one was injured.

The police are on site with several units and the National Bomb Squad has been called.

A preliminary investigation into serious public danger and a serious violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods has been initiated.

Person was seen leaving the scene

A person on an electric scooter was reportedly seen leaving the area in connection with the explosion.

– We are on site and investigating. There is some kind of hunt going on but no one has been arrested, says Ida Abrahamsson.

The police are working to obtain more information about the incident through, among other things, witness interviews and reviewing surveillance footage.

Shortly before eight o'clock on Monday morning, no one was still in custody.
