Around 10 May 2026 (as reported), an armed group (likely a police security agency affiliated with the GNU, based on the type of action and the date) carried out a drone strike on the headquarters of the Anti-Security Threat Agency, which is led by Mohamed Bahroun, in Az Zawiyah (Az Zawiyah, West). The group stated that 5 of its members were killed. On 8 May, GNU security forces launched a large-scale security operation in Zawiya targeting 'wanted individuals', 'criminals', and 'all those involved in acts that threaten public security and social peace' (coded separately).
