On 3 May 2026, around 6:30am Abu Dhabi time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched 1 unspecified projectile (coded as drone based on previous activity) that directly impacted the VOLANS tugboat (IMO: 929856) off the Coast of Fujayrah (Al Fujayrah), as it was transiting the strait of Hormuz en route from the UAE to Oman. The attack resulted in at least 1 fatality, as 1 Tanzanian crew member was confirmed killed. Fatalities coded as at least 1 following the most conservative estimate. This took place amid the US/Israel-Iran conflict and a naval standoff and reciprocal blockade between the US and Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
