On 6 May 2026, in Long Hkin village (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), following a clash between the Myanmar military and a combined force of the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) and allies near the village (coded separately), the military indiscriminately fired artillery rounds into the village at about 8 pm. The shells landed in No.4 ward, injuring 2 civilians.
