Three armed civilians, including two minors, were captured in the town of El Walamito, in the Tacuichamona district, a rural area south of Culiacán historically controlled by the Los Mayos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. The deployment of civilian and military forces disrupted the activities of this operational cell in an area with a high crime rate. This specific location represents a strategic corridor for concealing drug shipments and establishing safe houses, and has been the scene of recent clashes over asset control and internal territorial disputes that keep regional stability on high alert. During security and military intelligence operations aimed at maintaining public order, authorities detected the suspects as they attempted to take refuge in some cabins. The armed forces personnel neutralized the resistance and mitigated the risk without firing their weapons, securing considerable firepower that included a 7.62x51mm SCAR rifle, a 5.56x45mm M249S heavy machine gun, and a 5.45x39mm AK-47 assault rifle. They also seized over a thousand rounds of ammunition of various calibers, fourteen loaded magazines, two armored vehicles with active theft reports, and 49 doses of methamphetamine weighing approximately 1.5 kilograms, weakening the local logistical structure. This arrest confirms the recurring use of minors by criminal organizations for surveillance and weapons custody, a relevant fact that the official version usually omits from its regular statements to avoid debate about the breakdown of the social fabric.
