Federal and state forces carried out two separate operations in Culiacán, Sinaloa, resulting in the seizure of high-powered weapons, ammunition, tactical equipment, and a significant quantity of chemical substances and precursors allegedly linked to illicit activities. Context of the operation In the first operation, conducted during patrols in the Valle Alto residential area in northwestern Culiacán, members of the Special Operations Group located an abandoned pickup truck with tinted windows, prompting a more detailed inspection. Discovery of vehicle and arsenal Inside the vehicle, a Ford F-150, authorities found four AK-47 rifles, as well as 2,495 rounds of ammunition of various calibers. They also seized four tactical vests, each with two ballistic plates, and four Kevlar helmets, in addition to the abandoned vehicle itself.
